Watch The Rock sing ‘happy birthday’ to the 82nd Airborne Division

The 82nd Airborne Division is celebrating its 100th birthday this year. Here, Maj. Gen. Richard Clarke and Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Green, 82nd Airborne Division commanding general and command sergeant major, salute during the Airborne Review at Sicily Drop Zone on Fort Bragg, N.C., last year.

This year marks the 100th birthday for the 82nd Airborne Division, and they’re not celebrating alone.

All the way from Canada, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recorded a video wishing a happy birthday for the elite paratrooper unit based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

The video starts with the wrestler-turned-actor singing “Happy Birthday” while showing the Army flag.

Talking into the camera, Johnson said Fort Bragg is one of his favorite places on the planet, and that he plays a “very proud U.S. veteran” in the new movie he’s filming in Canada.

In “Skyscraper,” he plays a veteran and former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader who assesses security for those buildings.

Johnson’s energy in the video is contagious as he talks about his appreciation for service members.

“Honestly, from deep down in my soul, in my bones, in my guts, in my bloodstream, I just want to say thank you so much for your service,” he said.
