Black Hole Weaponry has released a small compensator called the “Dragon Head Muzzle Break”.   Black Hole Weaponry has built this as a dedicated compensator, the rear is threaded for 1/2 x 28, and will screw onto any threaded .223 or 5.56 standard AR15 barrel.  The front has a large centered exit hole, with five smaller holes evenly spaced around it.  The device is easily installed by hand threading it onto your barrel, then using an allenhead wrench in the center hole to tighten it down.  No washers (peel or crush) are needed as there is no up or down side to the Dragon Head Muzzle Break (DHMB).  The smooth cylindrical body is well machined and black in color.

Use of this muzzle device does two things.  First, and probably most important for a compensator/ muzzle brake, it kills muzzle rise nicely.  Secondly, it directs the sound and blast forward.  You aren’t going to confuse this for a suppressor, but without the side ports, it keeps the blast from bothering everyone on the firing line like some of the other compensator on the market.

I know that someone will point out that other compensators on the market are called “Brakes” as opposed to “Break”.  Thats fine, this little beast stands out from many of the others by how well it functions, its ease of installation, and its low price of roughly $40.

If you are looking for a place to buy one of these, you can make your online or phone order from http://www.surplusammo.com/, its where I got mine from.  Ask for Andy, he will take good care of you.
